General Updates:

The transfer of Western fighter jets to Ukraine will be discussed at a meeting of defense ministers of NATO countries in June, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in an interview with Spiegel.

The U.S. Air Force assessed that it would take only four months to train Ukrainian pilots to operate F-16 fighter jets, a far shorter time frame than what has been repeatedly cited by Pentagon officials.

The New York Times writes that a group of 14 members of the US Congress sent a letter to the Joe Biden administration with a request to unblock the supply of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine without delay.

The Pentagon declares that the Patriot air defense system damaged in Ukraine has already been repaired and fully returned to operation, press secretary Sabrina Singh said at a briefing.

In September, the US plans to announce a $60 billion aid package to Ukraine for 2024, former representative of the US State Department for Ukraine, Kurt Walker, said.

Josep Borrell, head of the EU diplomacy has proposed a significant addition of $3.5 billion to the EU fund used to fund military aid to Ukraine.
