In the latest episode of “Sister Wives,” Christine Brown, one of the four wives in the polygamist Brown family, had a candid conversation with Janelle Brown, reflecting on their complex relationships with Kody Brown. The family’s dynamics are continuing to fracture, leaving viewers both shocked and intrigued.
Christine, aged 51, and Janelle, aged 54, discussed their mental states in relation to their relationship with Kody, who is 54 years old and the common husband to both. When Christine asked whether Kody understood where Janelle stood emotionally in their relationship, Janelle didn’t hold back in her response.
“I tell him and I talk to him, but I don’t think he’s tracking,” she said, to which Christine replied, “I think he’s just a monogamist now.”
Surprisingly, Janelle agreed, marking a pivotal moment in the ongoing saga of the Brown family’s relationships. “This is the first time Janelle’s agreed with me that Kody lives monogamy,” Christine said in a confessional.

The TLC show introduced the Brown family to viewers in 2010 when Kody was legally married to Meri and had spiritual unions with Christine and Janelle. However, in 2014, he made a pivotal decision by divorcing Meri in order to legally marry Robyn and adopt her children from a previous marriage. His spiritual union with Meri continued until their split in 2022.
Christine was the first of the sister wives to leave the family, announcing her breakup in November 2021. She has since moved on, marrying David Woolley in Utah.
Throughout season 18 of Sister Wives, Janelle and Kody’s strained relationship has been in the spotlight. Their relationship took a hit during a blowout fight in a September episode, which Janelle admitted effectively ended their marriage. She officially confirmed their breakup in December 2022.
Janelle explained to Christine, “Everything was great until the last year or so. Then I began to realize I started changing. I realized I need something different. I keep thinking that there should be more drama, but I’m just like, ‘I’m ready to do something different.'”
Their separation was described as amicable by Janelle, though Christine wasn’t entirely convinced, hinting at the tension she had observed.

As the tension within the family reached an all-time high, Janelle realized that she felt “more at peace” without Kody around. Kody, on the other hand, seemed to be open to the idea of having only one spouse. “My whole life seems to center around mine and Robyn’s household,” he said, indicating that Robyn was encouraging him to “fix” his relationships with Meri and Janelle.
