Ukraine War Update as of March 17: Ukraine Strikes Russian Oil Refinery Amid Critical Ammunition Shortage

In the latest development of the ongoing conflict, Ukraine launched a targeted attack on a Russian oil refinery. The Nefte Peregonnyy Zavod in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, located in the Krasnodar Krai, was struck by at least 7 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), part of a coordinated assault that also targeted regions including Moscow, Yaroslavl, Kaluga, Bilhorod, Rostov, Oryol, and Kursk.

The attack on the refinery underscores Ukraine’s resolve to retaliate against Russian aggression, despite facing significant challenges including a critical shortage of ammunition.

Meanwhile, heavy battles have erupted in the Avdiivka direction, particularly in Berdychy and Tonenke, where Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) have successfully deployed reinforcements to halt the rapid advance of Russian forces.

Heavy clashes continue along the border section near Graivoron in the Belgorod region, where the Russian Volunteer Corps persists in its attacks, seeking to capitalize on previous successes.
