MultiversX Unveils xPortal SuperApp, Redefining the Digital Landscape at xDay Conference 2023

The xDay Conference 2023, organized by technology leader MultiversX in Bucharest, was a platform for the unveiling of its revolutionary xPortal features. The xPortal, often described as a SuperApp, goes beyond being just a secure decentralized digital wallet. It seamlessly integrates social interactions, a news platform, access to the metaverse, NFTs, and gamification, creating a multifaceted digital journey for its users.

Furthermore, MultiversX, previously known as Elrond, showcased a suite of technical upgrades designed to enhance the capabilities of its blockchain.

The latest protocol amendments have been tailored to elevate the MultiversX network’s throughput, propelling it to lead with over 100,000 transactions per second (TPS) and a remarkable 1-second latency.

MultiversX CEO Beniamin Mincu, in his keynote speech at the conference, emphasized the pivotal role of technology in shaping our future. He encouraged the development of solutions to current challenges and illustrated technology’s profound impact on society with examples such as electricity and the internet.

Mincu particularly underscored the transition from passive consumers to active creators, all thanks to technological advancements. He stressed the importance of embracing emerging technologies, including spatial computing, AI, and blockchain, envisioning a future where digital assistants are commonplace. He urged the audience to seize the opportunities these technologies offer to participate in societal progress.

Following the keynote address, MultiversX presented its roadmap for enhancing its blockchain capabilities. The new features include an on-chain two-factor authentication (2FA) mechanism and a more user-friendly transaction model. These upgrades are set to bring a more traditional web experience to the blockchain, making it more accessible.

Sergiu Biris, MultiversX’s Head of Product, provided in-depth insights into the features of xPortal. He introduced tools for managing finances, debit cards, and a native in-app crypto purchase solution. Moreover, Biris announced the integration of peer-to-peer fiat payments and European IBANs, SEPA, and SWIFT by early 2024. He also unveiled xGenie, an AI-powered assistant, designed to ensure a user-friendly xPortal experience, exemplifying MultiversX’s commitment to integrating technology seamlessly into daily life.

Biris remarked, “The features launched today, most notably the debit cards, were a long time in the making. Today’s launch elevates xPortal from a crypto wallet to a financial super app. We thus created a bridge to an interconnected future where the lines between crypto, fiat, and emerging technologies like AI dissolve, bringing an unparalleled user experience.”

On the third day of the xDay conference, Illinois-based firm Runtime Verification introduced PI Squared, a universal ZK Rollup integrated with the MultiversX blockchain.

This groundbreaking innovation transforms computational claims verification into mathematical proof verification, employing a universal proof checker. In an environment where blockchain’s growth has been accompanied by a surge in security breaches, PI Squared emerges as a beacon of enhanced security standards.

By providing a platform that is agnostic to programming language or virtual machine (VM), it simplifies the process of trustlessly and programmatically verifying correctness proofs for developers, users, and enterprises. This initiative not only bolsters the security infrastructure of the MultiversX blockchain but also positions it as an enticing option for startups and companies seeking a secure platform for high-value deployments.

Through PI Squared, MultiversX and Runtime Verification are committed to nurturing a safer and more reliable blockchain ecosystem.
