Kate Middleton and Prince William are reportedly making significant plans for their youngest son, Prince Louis, to ensure he doesn’t end up feeling like a ‘spare’ like his uncle, Prince Harry.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are determined to encourage their younger children, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, to explore lives beyond the confines of royal duties.
While Princess Charlotte is expected to take on the title of Princess Royal in the future, Prince Louis faces the potential challenge of living in the shadow of his older brother, Prince George, who is second in line to the British throne.
To address this, Kate and William are committed to fostering a sense of individuality and purpose for their youngest son.
Royal correspondent Jennie Bond highlighted that Prince Edward and Sophie, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, are seen as “excellent role models” for the young royals.
They demonstrate how to lead successful lives without being direct heirs to the throne. Bond suggested that Kate and William would love for Charlotte and Louis to follow in their footsteps.
“William and Kate must be acutely aware of the problems for a royal spare,” Bond said. “They have already shown that they have a different and modern attitude to bringing up royal children, and I’m sure they will do everything to make Charlotte and Louis feel every bit as special, loved, and valued as George.”

Discussing the plans for their energetic and mischievous Prince Louis, Bond added, “I imagine they will encourage Louis to explore life outside the royal fold.”
She mentioned that this could involve a career in the military, charity work, or any other field that appeals to Louis after his education.
The expert emphasized that Kate and William would want Louis to find a life that is “meaningful to him as well as appropriate for the son of a future King.”
