Famous Rapper Fatman Scoop Died After Collapsing During Live Concert
The music world is mourning the loss of Isaac Freeman III, better known as Fatman Scoop, who passed away at the age of 53. The news of his death was shared on Instagram by producer Pure Cold (Birch Michael) on Saturday, August 31, alongside a heartfelt tribute to the legendary rapper.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts I announce the passing of Isaac Freeman III, known professionally as Fatman Scoop,” Pure Cold wrote. “You taught me how to be the man I am today. I love you Scoop. Thank you so much for everything you gave to me.”
Pure Cold, who had a close personal and professional relationship with Fatman Scoop, expressed his deep sense of loss, recalling the many experiences they shared together. “I am honestly lost for words,” he added. “You took me all over the world and had me performing alongside you on some of the biggest and greatest stages on this planet. The things you taught me have truly made me the man I am today.”
While the exact cause of Fatman Scoop’s death has not been revealed, reports indicate that he collapsed during a concert in Connecticut on Friday, August 30. Despite efforts to revive him with CPR on stage, he was later pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital.
Fatman Scoop’s family released a statement on his Instagram account later on Saturday, expressing their profound grief. “It is with profound sadness and very heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of the legendary and iconic Fatman Scoop. Last night, the world lost a radiant soul, a beacon of light on the stage and in life,” the statement read.
The family went on to describe Fatman Scoop as more than just a performer. “Fatman Scoop was not just a world-class performer; he was a father, brother, uncle, and a friend. He was the laughter in our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength, and courage.”
