Viral Video of Princess Diana Scolding Young Prince Harry Sparks Backlash Amid His Latest BBC Interview

A resurfaced video clip of Princess Diana sternly telling a young Prince Harry to behave is going viral—and royal watchers are calling it eerily timely.

The throwback moment, believed to be from a behind-the-scenes moment during one of Diana’s interviews, shows the late Princess of Wales repeatedly asking Harry to sit down and be quiet.

In the footage, Diana is heard saying, “If you come in here, you sit down and be quiet,” with clear frustration in her voice. Harry himself isn’t visible on camera, but the audio alone is sparking major reactions.

Moments later, she adds more firmly, “Shush, Harry. Sit down.” Her calm yet clearly exasperated tone is now being linked to how Prince Harry is handling his current royal disputes.

The resurfacing of this clip comes at a time when the Duke of Sussex is once again under intense public scrutiny—this time over his controversial new BBC interview.

In his appearance, Harry expressed a desire for reconciliation with the royal family. But he claimed King Charles has refused to speak to him due to ongoing tension over Harry’s personal security.

The Duke’s emotional comments followed just hours after he lost his legal battle with the UK government over taxpayer-funded police protection for his family.

Royal fans quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to link the past and present behavior of Prince Harry, turning the resurfaced Diana clip into an internet talking point.

Some used the opportunity to poke fun at Harry, calling him a “handful” even as a child. One user wrote, “Harry hasn’t still changed,” while another added, “He was annoying back then too.”

Not all comments were lighthearted, though. Some critics argued the clip was “a glimpse into the entitled behavior that later led to Megxit and royal fallouts.”

Others rushed to defend Harry, saying all children misbehave sometimes and that using such a clip to criticize a grown man was unfair and unnecessary.

Still, the timing couldn’t have been more striking. As Harry tries to position himself as a victim of the royal institution, the video painted him in a less-than-flattering light.

In his BBC interview, Harry said he couldn’t imagine bringing Meghan and their two children back to the UK under the current security conditions. “I don’t think it’s safe,” he insisted.

He also stated, “I miss the UK. I miss parts of it. But I can’t return until the security issue is resolved.” His legal loss means he will now have to fund his own protection while in Britain.

In the interview, Harry further revealed that the Royal Household itself played a major role in denying Meghan protective security when she joined the family.

“Before the Royal Household’s role on RAVEC was known, they had already decided Meghan wouldn’t get police protection,” he claimed.

These statements have widened the existing chasm between Harry and his royal relatives, especially his father, King Charles, and his brother, Prince William.

As the royal feud deepens, the old Diana clip has gained new life online, being interpreted as a symbolic reminder of the friction that seems to follow Harry everywhere—even from childhood.

It remains to be seen whether Harry’s olive branch will be accepted. For now, the viral video has done little to shift public sympathy in his favor.
