Prince Harry Slammed for Lashing Out at Loved Ones as Peace Talks Begin Without Prince William

Prince Harry is once again facing public scrutiny, this time over his alleged habit of lashing out at those closest to him even the ones trying to help.
Royal commentator Sarah Vine delivered a damning critique in a new column for The Daily Mail, comparing the Duke of Sussex to a “wounded animal” who pushes away support while complaining about being isolated.
The sharp criticism comes as new reports suggest that peace talks between King Charles and Prince Harry’s teams are quietly underway, signaling a possible royal reconciliation — but notably without Prince William’s involvement.
Sarah Vine’s comments pull no punches as she paints a bleak picture of Prince Harry’s mental and emotional state since leaving royal life behind in 2020 with wife Meghan Markle. “They say that as a parent you are only ever as happy as your unhappiest child,” Vine wrote. “Given Prince Harry’s clearly troubled state of mind, it can’t have been easy for King Charles to find much peace these past few years.”
Vine noted that while Harry may have intended to start a new life of freedom in California, what followed instead was a series of public outbursts, grievances, and accusations aimed at the very people who once supported him.
“Since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex left to start a new life in California, Harry has sadly shown himself to be deeply unhappy, lashing out like a wounded animal at those who care about him most,” she added.
The timing of this commentary is especially significant, given the emergence of a quiet but potentially game-changing peace meeting between representatives of Harry and King Charles.
As reported earlier, the meeting took place at the Royal Over-Seas League club in London, where Harry’s chief UK communications officer Meredith Maines met with King Charles’ press secretary Tobyn Andreae for a private chat. There was reportedly “no agenda” — just a willingness to talk.
The move has been widely interpreted as a first step toward reconciliation after years of tension, made worse by the Sussexes’ Oprah interview, Netflix documentary, and Harry’s memoir Spare.
However, what is causing even more buzz is the fact that Prince William and his team were completely absent from this peace initiative.
This fresh omission has renewed speculation that the real roadblock in the royal family may not be between Harry and his father, but rather between the two brothers.
Sources close to the palace have indicated that Prince William still feels betrayed by Harry’s actions over the past few years and is not ready to forgive — at least not yet.
For King Charles, who is already facing health challenges and carrying the burden of the crown, this fractured family dynamic is an added emotional strain. The monarch has long hoped for harmony between his sons, but Sarah Vine believes it is Harry’s behavior that continues to drive the wedge deeper.
“It’s as if he doesn’t see the damage he’s doing,” she noted. “Even those trying to open the door to him risk being bitten.”
Despite the royal family’s usual silence on internal matters, the significance of these secret meetings cannot be ignored. For once, the monarchy seems willing to engage behind the scenes, and King Charles appears to be leading the effort.
But without Prince William’s presence, any talk of reconciliation may only be partial. And with experts calling Harry “deeply unhappy,” the question now is whether he’s ready to accept peace — or if he’ll once again turn on those extending an olive branch.
As Vine concluded, “You can’t save someone who keeps pushing you away.” And in this case, the clock may be ticking for the Sussexes and their chances at redemption.
