Paxful, the leading global peer-to-peer Bitcoin platform, has made an important announcement regarding the appointment of their new Interim Chief Executive Officer. Roshan Dharia has been chosen to assume this role, effective immediately, following a brief shutdown period of the exchange and the departure of Co-Founder and former CEO Ray Youssef.

A press release shared with Bitcoin Magazine revealed that Dharia’s main responsibilities will revolve around strengthening operations and exploring strategic alternatives for the company. With extensive experience in similar positions, Dharia expressed his excitement, stating, “I am deeply honored to take on the position of CEO at Paxful. Throughout the past eight years, Paxful has been at the forefront of showcasing the practical applications of Bitcoin and has played a crucial role in improving the lives of millions of individuals.”

Dharia previously held a senior executive role at TrustToken (now Archblock), where he led the DeFi institutional lending business. Additionally, he has also founded and developed the investment platform PTHL Affiliates, which specializes in acquiring and revitalizing distressed private companies.

Srinivas Raju, the Custodian of Paxful, expressed his confidence in Dharia’s leadership, stating, “I am delighted to welcome Roshan to Paxful, where he will assume the day-to-day management of the company. I am certain that under his guidance, the business will continue to establish a financial system that genuinely caters to everyone.”

The departure of former CEO Ray Youssef reportedly stemmed from a disagreement involving a range of accusations and legal disputes with Artur Schaback, the exchange’s current COO and co-founder.

Since its inception in 2015, Paxful has achieved remarkable growth, amassing over 12 million users worldwide and facilitating billions of dollars in trades on its platform, as highlighted in the press release.
