Prince Harry Loses Court Battle Over Security Withdrawal After Royal Exit

In a recent legal showdown, Prince Harry faced a setback in his pursuit for security provision post his royal departure from the United Kingdom. The Duke of Sussex, alongside his wife Meghan Markle, contested what they deemed an “unlawful” decision by the Home Office to retract their security detail, a move that left them and their children vulnerable.

The Duchess of Sussex initiated legal action against the Home Office, accusing the organization of unfairly targeting Prince Harry by withholding taxpayer-funded security after their royal exit. However, retired High Court judge Sir Peter Lane ruled against the couple’s claims, stating there was no evidence of “unlawfulness” in the decision-making process.

According to Sir Peter Lane’s statement, any deviation from standard policy was justified, and the decision to withdraw security was not deemed irrational. He further asserted that even if procedural unfairness existed, it would not warrant relief for the claimant as the outcome would likely remain unchanged.
