Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Early Support for Invictus Games Acknowledged Amidst Reunion Speculations

Amidst the anticipation surrounding the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, royal commentator Michael Cole has drawn attention to the crucial role played by Prince William and Kate Middleton in the genesis of this charitable endeavor.

In a conversation with GB News host Nana Akua, Cole highlighted the instrumental support provided by the Prince and Princess of Wales in the formative years of the Invictus Games, emphasizing their contributions prior to Meghan Markle’s entrance into the royal fold.

“Back in 2014, William and Kate, the Prince and Princess of Wales, were very influential through their foundation in encouraging Harry when he established the Invictus Games, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence,” Cole explained.

Despite the significance of their early involvement, Cole noted that the contributions of Prince William and Kate Middleton have since been overlooked and overshadowed.

Their absence from the upcoming commemorative service at St. Paul’s Cathedral to mark a decade of the Invictus Games serves as a poignant reminder of their initial support.

Founded by Prince Harry in 2014 to honor injured veterans, the Invictus Games has grown into a celebrated event showcasing the resilience and spirit of servicemen and women.

While Prince Harry has extended invitations to senior members of the royal family, including King Charles and Prince William, their attendance is unlikely due to conflicting commitments and the ongoing health crisis.

Regarding hopes of reconciliation between Prince Harry and his brother, Cole expressed skepticism, suggesting that the possibility appears remote.

“The possibility of Harry becoming reconciled with his brother, I would say, is between slim and nil – and I would opt for nil,” he remarked.

As preparations for the 10th anniversary celebrations unfold, it’s imperative to acknowledge the collaborative efforts of all involved in the success of the Invictus Games, including the early support provided by Prince William and Kate Middleton.
