Prince Harry Turns Down Meghan Markle’s Approach to Family Disputes

Since relocating to the US in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship with senior members of the Royal Family has been strained, affecting their children, Archie and Lilibet, and their interactions with Windsor relatives, notably King Charles.

Former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond has voiced concerns about the limited interaction between Archie, Lilibet, and their grandparents, particularly highlighting the innocence of the young royals in familial conflicts.

“Having grandchildren is a powerful tug on the heartstrings,” Bond shared with OK! Magazine.

“Little people who are part of your bloodline and have had nothing to do with family quarrels and tensions deserve to know and love their grandparents.”

Bond expressed hope that Prince Harry will not adopt Meghan’s approach of remaining estranged from her father and most of her family.

She suggested that Archie and Lilibet could play a pivotal role in fostering reconciliation between Prince Harry and King Charles.

Ingrid Seward, a Royal author, underscored the importance of family to King Charles, emphasizing his desire to build meaningful relationships with Archie and Lilibet despite the challenges.

“He does not want a FaceTime relationship with his son’s children,” Seward explained. “He wants to know them and be involved with their lives while they are still young enough to learn from his wisdom.”

Royal author Tom Quinn previously discussed Meghan’s concerns about her children missing out on connections with their UK relatives, noting potential regrets as adults for what they might perceive as a missed opportunity for a fulfilling life in the UK.

Reflecting on the implications, Jennie Bond highlighted the curiosity children naturally have about their heritage, especially when belonging to one of the world’s most renowned families.

She painted a poignant picture of Archie, envisioning him at age 15, barely knowing his royal relatives.

As Prince Harry navigates his familial relationships from afar, the hope remains that Archie and Lilibet will forge bonds with their Windsor relatives, bridging divides and preserving their royal heritage for generations to come.
