Prince Harry Unveiled His True Feelings at the Time of Princess Diana’s Death
Prince Harry has tugged at heartstrings with a brand-new video of himself discussing how things played out once his mother, Princess Diana, passed away.
He shed light on his personal struggle during his appearance for Scotty’s Little Soldiers, an organization for which he serves as the global ambassador.
The video, released ahead of Armed Forces Day but filmed prior, according to The Telegraph, captures a poignant conversation where Prince Harry delves into his emotions and experiences following the tragic loss of his mother when he was just 12 years old.
Scotty’s Little Soldiers is an organization founded by Nikki Scott, inspired by her own experience of loss after her husband died, leaving behind two young children.
The organization now has 680 members, providing support to bereaved British Forces children.
In the video, the Duke of Sussex takes a trip down memory lane, recounting the profound impact of losing Princess Diana.
He began by saying, “That’s the hardest thing, especially for kids, I think, which is, ‘I don’t want to talk about it because it will make me sad, but once realizing that if I do talk about it, I’m celebrating their life, then actually, things become easier’… as opposed to this ‘I’m just not going to talk about it, and that’s the best form of coping,’ when in fact it’s not.”
He further elaborated, “It can be for a period of time… you can’t suppress it forever. It’s not sustainable. And it will eat away at you inside.”

Prince Harry’s candid reflections highlight the challenges of dealing with such a significant loss and the importance of addressing and expressing grief.
Before signing off, he also shared, “No one wants to be in the position where they are forced to talk about the very thing they don’t want to talk about, especially when every defense mechanism in your mind, nervous system, and everything else is saying ‘do not go there’.”
Prince Harry’s heartfelt words serve as a reminder of the enduring impact of Princess Diana’s legacy and the ongoing process of healing from such a profound loss.
