Kate Middleton’s Unexpected Role in Prince George’s Kingly Training Leaves Fans Stunned

Kate Middleton’s influence on Prince George’s future as King of the United Kingdom has been revealed, and it may surprise royal watchers.

As the young prince turned 12 on July 22, experts say he has officially entered a new chapter in his royal journey, one that will shape his path toward the throne.

Royal historian Marlene Koenig explained that Kate’s role in George’s life will be unlike Prince William’s. She revealed that while Kate will play a vital part in her son’s upbringing, she will not be directly responsible for his constitutional training.

Speaking to US Weekly, Koenig said, “She will never have a constitutional role, except as regent in a worst-case scenario if George becomes king before age 18.”

According to the historian, Kate’s role is deeply personal rather than political. “She is there to be the loving, supportive mom in everything George does, because he is her son first and foremost,” Koenig added.

Although Kate has spent years mastering the traditions and etiquette of royal life, the primary responsibility of preparing George for his future duties lies with Prince William.

Koenig pointed out that Kate’s long courtship with William allowed her to gradually adjust to the demands of royal life. “She and William dated for nearly 10 years before their engagement was announced, which allowed her the time and space to learn about her future life as a member of the royal family,” she explained.

The historian also reminded royal fans that Kate’s eventual position as Queen Consort will make her the supportive partner to the King, while William will focus on instilling the leadership skills and ceremonial knowledge George will need.

“In time, as wife of the heir to the throne and eventually as Queen Consort, she is also the mother of a future king,” Koenig emphasized.

While Kate will focus on emotional guidance and personal support, William will take charge of providing George with the “knowledge and practice of their roles” to ensure he is fully prepared when the time comes.

In recent weeks, a subtle but significant change in royal protocol has already signaled George’s growing importance. Reports revealed that he will no longer travel on the same aircraft as his father during official trips.

Charles’ former pilot, Graham Laurie, confirmed the change on A Right Royal Podcast, noting that the same safety measure was introduced for William after his 12th birthday. This long-standing tradition is designed to protect the direct line to the throne.

The move follows George’s prominent role in King Charles’ coronation, where he served as one of his grandfather’s train bearers. His participation was a historic first, as he became the youngest royal to take on such a ceremonial role during a coronation.

Koenig praised George for handling the high-pressure moment with poise. “If the young prince was nervous, he didn’t show it,” she remarked, highlighting his growing confidence in public duties.

As George steps into this more defined phase of royal preparation, Kate’s steady presence as a loving and supportive mother may be just as essential as William’s formal training in shaping the future monarch
