Prince Harry Branded A Hostage As Meghan Markle Takes Full Control of Empire

Prince Harry has been painted as a man trapped in Meghan Markle’s entertainment world as the couple’s high-profile Netflix deal enters a new chapter.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently renewed their contract with the streaming giant, confirming that they will continue producing content but this time with a noticeable shift in focus.
Royal watchers were quick to note that while Meghan appears to be taking a prominent role in the creative direction, Harry’s presence seems to have diminished.
Royal commentator Esther Krakue spoke to The Sun about the dynamic, claiming that Harry is “in the attic” and “a hostage” in the Sussexes’ media empire.
She added with a touch of sarcasm, “Thankfully he chewed through his leash just in time to make an appearance in the season two trailer.”
However, Krakue pointed out that Harry is largely absent from the couple’s latest promotional push, sparking questions about his future in their joint ventures.
“Yes, obviously he is dealing with the fallout from his charity work and trying to find his own thing,” she noted. “But the man is lost. I mean, he is really trying to find his feet.”
The royal expert also made a cutting remark about the Duke’s track record in recent years, describing it as having “a kind of brown Midas touch,” a phrase she suggested viewers could interpret for themselves.
According to Krakue, Meghan has been the driving force behind the creative side of their media brand, leaving Harry to navigate a more uncertain path.
This is not the first time speculation has swirled about the power dynamics between the couple, especially when it comes to their business decisions and public appearances.
Since stepping down from royal duties in what was dubbed “Megxit,” the Sussexes have signed lucrative deals with major companies, with Netflix being their most prominent partnership.

Their first projects together included the controversial docuseries Harry and Meghan and the critically acclaimed Heart of Invictus, but recent reports suggest that Meghan is branching into more lifestyle-focused content while Harry explores separate initiatives.
Critics argue that the former senior royal has struggled to carve out a distinct identity outside of his marriage, often being overshadowed by Meghan’s Hollywood connections and ambitions.
Supporters of the couple, however, believe this division of labour is a natural evolution, allowing each to pursue individual passions while still maintaining joint projects when necessary.
Yet, the optics remain a challenge. The image of Harry as a “hostage” in his wife’s entertainment world has struck a chord with royal followers, fuelling debates about whether the Duke’s voice is being sidelined.
Meghan’s confident moves in the industry from podcasting to producing have solidified her as a force in entertainment, while Harry appears to be recalibrating his public role.
The renewal of their Netflix contract ensures that the Sussex brand will continue to have a platform for years to come, but it also places pressure on Harry to define his contribution beyond cameo appearances.
For now, Meghan’s vision seems to be steering the ship, leaving many to wonder whether Harry will find his own creative anchor or remain as critics suggest, a passenger in their shared journey.
