Meghan Markle Netflix Fame Reignites Andy Cohen Regret Over Snubbed Invite

Meghan Markle has once again found herself at the center of online debate, this time not only because of her new Netflix show With Love, Meghan, but also due to resurfaced comments made by Bravo host Andy Cohen.
The Duchess of Sussex’s latest project with Netflix has attracted plenty of attention, drawing both praise and criticism from viewers. But while the show trends on social media, royal watchers and fans of reality television are buzzing over Cohen’s candid confession about once turning Meghan away from his popular late-night show.
Speaking during his “Ask Andy” panel at BravoCon 2023, Cohen admitted that he now regrets passing on Meghan when she was starring in the legal drama Suits, years before her royal marriage to Prince Harry.
“It was when she was on Suits,” Cohen explained. “I didn’t watch the show. I guess she was pitched, and we passed. As my executive producer said, ‘You really never know who is going to become a duchess.’”
The host, known for his sharp wit and star-studded interviews, said his biggest regret was losing the chance to have a lighthearted and fun moment with Meghan on air.
“When I think there could be clips of Meghan Markle kiki-ing with me, doing a shot and talking about Vicki Gunvalson, I want to kill myself,” Cohen joked to the BravoCon audience.
The confession sparked laughter, but it also highlighted just how dramatically Meghan’s life changed after she left Hollywood behind and married into the British royal family in 2018.
When asked if he thought Meghan would consider appearing now, Cohen dismissed the idea. “I don’t think so. I think she’s kind of done with it,” he said. “And honestly, I don’t blame her. You passed on me then, you want me now? No.”
Cohen also stirred further debate when he admitted he never understood Meghan’s former show Suits, which enjoyed a revival of popularity on streaming platforms last year. “I thought it was a fake show. It seemed like a parody,” he said.

For Meghan, however, Suits was a career-defining role, with her portrayal of paralegal Rachel Zane earning her international recognition. The series ran from 2011 until 2018, ending just as she transitioned into her new life as a working royal alongside Prince Harry.
Her latest Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, is part of the Sussexes’ ongoing partnership with the streaming giant. The project has generated significant buzz, though critics remain divided, with some praising its personal touch while others accuse Meghan of leaning too heavily on her royal connections.
Still, Cohen’s confession adds an intriguing twist to Meghan’s media journey. The once “snubbed actress” is now a global name who likely has little need for Bravo’s platform. For many fans, it’s a perfect example of how underestimated Meghan was before her royal life propelled her into worldwide fame.
Social media quickly seized on Cohen’s comments, with supporters of Meghan mocking his regret as “too little, too late.” Others argued that the Bravo host’s honesty was refreshing and proved how unpredictable Hollywood careers can be.
Meanwhile, Meghan’s critics pointed to Cohen’s dismissal of Suits as symbolic of the skepticism she faced long before she met Prince Harry. They argue that Meghan’s struggles with public perception are nothing new, though her transition from TV star to duchess magnified them on a global scale.
For Cohen, the incident is just another example of his candid personality, which has made him both beloved and controversial in the entertainment world. But for Meghan, the resurfaced remarks serve as another reminder of how her past continues to follow her into the present.
Whether or not Meghan responds directly, the timing of Cohen’s comments ensures that her new Netflix show remains in the headlines a publicity boost that could benefit her project far more than any old late-night appearance
