Royal Expert Warns Prince Harry His Children Could One Day Turn Against Him and Meghan Markle

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced endless criticism since leaving the royal family, but now a new warning has emerged that cuts deeper than any palace scandal. Royal biographer Hugo Vickers has sounded the alarm that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet may one day grow resentful of how their parents raised them.
The expert appeared on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive and argued that Harry may be setting up his children for years of emotional turmoil. Vickers believes that the choices being made now, from where the children live to how their images are used, could come back to haunt the Sussexes.
According to him, Harry’s actions are already creating the foundation for problems later in life. “Everything that Prince Harry does gets an undue amount of attention,” he explained. Even during Harry’s brief visit to the UK, public comparisons were immediately drawn between his engagements and those of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Vickers warned that such constant scrutiny only worsens the atmosphere in which Harry and Meghan are raising their children. He described Harry’s current life in Montecito as “unhappy” and suggested that emotional baggage from the past, including the death of Princess Diana, weighs heavily on him.
But his deepest concern centered on Archie and Lilibet. Vickers questioned how they will feel when they grow old enough to understand their roots and realize how distant they have been kept from both sides of their family. “There’s going to come a point when they’re going to say, why haven’t I met my grandfather on either side?” he said.
This comment refers not only to King Charles but also to Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle. Neither grandparent has built a real relationship with the Sussex children, and Vickers fears that the lack of those bonds will cause resentment.
In his starkest remark, the biographer argued, “It’s the other way round. He should be apologizing to them.” By this he meant Harry may one day owe his children an apology for cutting them off from their heritage.
Vickers even went as far as to imagine life from the children’s perspective. “If I was being brought up in California, and I suddenly discovered that my first cousin was likely to be king one day, I would like to get to know him, obviously.” This hypothetical raises a major issue—the growing gap between Archie, Lilibet, and their royal cousins in the UK.

The contrast is striking. Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are being raised under the full spotlight of monarchy, with close ties to tradition and duty. Meanwhile, Archie and Lilibet are growing up thousands of miles away, largely shielded from royal life but used in carefully staged glimpses on their parents’ terms.
Vickers added that the children might resent the way their images have been handled. “One day, as they grow up, they’re going to get irritated by having had the backs of their heads photographed and used for promotion,” he warned. The suggestion here is that Harry and Meghan have leveraged their children for publicity while denying them real connections to family.
The idea of being known only through controlled images while missing out on authentic relationships could be a painful realization for Archie and Lilibet. Both children are being raised with little exposure to either of their grandfathers, and Vickers believes this absence could spark serious questions in the future.
For now, Harry appears focused on reconciliation with King Charles, as their recent private meeting in London hinted at progress. Yet even as those talks continue, concerns remain about whether such efforts will come too late for the younger generation.
Ultimately, Vickers’s warning serves as a reminder that the decisions Harry and Meghan make today may have long-term consequences. The children, he argues, will not remain passive bystanders forever. As they grow older, they may demand answers about the life and family they were kept from knowing.
If that happens, Harry and Meghan could find themselves facing criticism not from royal watchers or the press but from their very own children. And unlike the media, Archie and Lilibet will have every right to demand an explanation.
