The clip showed Meghan lounging in a limousine, her feet up on the seat, while driving past the Paris tunnel where Princess Diana tragically lost her life in 1997.

The video, posted last Saturday, captured Meghan filming through the limo window as it passed the Pont Alexandre III and Pont des Invalides bridges at night. What might have been an ordinary travel clip to her followers quickly ignited outrage online due to its proximity to the Pont de l’Alma tunnel — the very site of Princess Diana’s fatal crash.
Royal sources say Prince William views the area as hallowed ground, a place tied deeply to painful memories. For Meghan to appear carefree and glamorous while passing nearby struck him as incredibly insensitive. Those close to the future King say he remains protective of his mother’s legacy and will not tolerate any actions he perceives as disrespectful.
The controversy has fueled another round of criticism toward Meghan, with many calling the video tone-deaf and disrespectful. Some royal watchers claim the Duchess should have been more aware of the emotional significance of the location before posting anything connected to it.
