Kate Middleton’s Latest Health Update Met with Criticism from Social Media Trolls
Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, recently faced scrutiny on social media following her candid update about her health and recovery from an undisclosed form of cancer.
The backlash centered on an alleged grammatical error in her statement, which also confirmed her subsequent appearance at King Charles’ birthday parade, Trooping the Colour.
In her statement, Kate used the phrase “It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times.”
This choice of wording triggered criticism from internet users who argued that she should have used “William and I” instead of “William and me.”
According to a poll conducted by YouGov among 6,097 GB adults, opinions were divided on the matter, reflecting public sensitivity towards language use, even in informal contexts.
Renowned royal author Richard Palmer intervened in the debate, expressing disappointment with the criticism directed at Kate.
“I’ve heard William and Harry use ‘and I’ incorrectly before in speeches but Kate was right on this occasion,” he affirmed.
“The secret is surely just to use ‘I’ or ‘me’ on its own. ‘It really has made the world of difference to I’ is obviously wrong to anyone whose mother tongue is English,” Palmer added.

Despite the backlash, Princess Kate addressed the criticism with grace by making a significant public appearance at King Charles’ official birthday parade over the weekend.
Her presence not only affirmed her recovery but also served as a dignified response to rumors about her prolonged absence from public life.
The Princess of Wales continues to navigate her health journey with resilience, supported by her family and a resilient spirit in the face of unwarranted scrutiny from social media circles.
