Britney Spears Slams Halsey Over Lucky Video Then Quickly Disowns Statement

Britney Spears’ reaction to Halsey’s new “Lucky” music video has taken a whirlwind turn, leaving fans and the media in a state of confusion.

Initially, Spears felt “harassed, violated, and bullied” by the video, which she claimed depicted her in a hurtful manner.

However, she soon retracted her strong statements and expressed love for Halsey, leading to a dramatic twist in the unfolding saga.

On Friday evening, Spears, 42, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her frustration and disappointment over Halsey’s video, which she felt misrepresented her in a negative light.

“For obvious reasons I’m very upset about the Halsey video,” Spears wrote. “I feel harassed, violated, and bullied.”

Spears, who has been vocal about her personal struggles and health issues, accused Halsey of illustrating her as a “superficial pop star with no heart or concern at all.”

She was particularly upset about how the video portrayed her, noting that it did not align with how she perceives herself or her experiences.

Spears’ post was accompanied by her mention of ongoing health problems, which she said were part of the reason she had recently deleted her Instagram account.

Despite her strong words, Spears revealed plans to return to the platform to demonstrate her engagement with her fans.

“I’m speaking with my lawyers today to see what can be done on this matter,” she concluded in her initial post. “It feels illegal and downright cruel.”

However, in a surprising turn of events, Spears quickly retracted her comments. Just moments after her initial outburst, she deleted the post and claimed it was not authored by her.

“Fake news!!! That was not me on my phone!!!” she later posted on X. “I love Halsey and that’s why I deleted it!!!”

Halsey, who uses she/they pronouns, responded swiftly and publicly to the controversy. In a show of support and admiration, Halsey wrote, “And I love Britney!!!!” on X.
