King Charles has reportedly made a firm and final decision to distance himself from his disgraced brother, Prince Andrew. The move comes after explosive court documents revealed that Andrew remained in contact with convicted offender Jeffrey Epstein in 2011—despite publicly claiming he had cut ties a year earlier.
A newly surfaced photo has further worsened the situation for the Duke of York. The image, taken in 2011, shows Andrew walking with Epstein in New York, directly contradicting his previous statements about severing their friendship in 2010.
Even more damning are the court documents that expose email exchanges between Andrew and Epstein. One message from Epstein to the prince reads, “We’ll play some more soon,” suggesting they maintained a relationship well after Andrew claimed to have distanced himself.
Royal expert Arthur Edwards believes this latest revelation was the final straw for King Charles. Speaking to The Sun, Edwards argued that Andrew’s biggest mistake wasn’t just his association with Epstein—but his disastrous 2019 Newsnight interview, where he denied knowing Virginia Giuffre, despite the existence of a widely circulated photo of them together.
“It’s all because he lied in that interview when he sort of said, ‘I don’t know this girl,’” Edwards explained. “And then you pay this girl a lot of money—someone you ‘don’t know.’ It was arrogance. I was cringing watching it.”
Andrew’s Newsnight interview was widely regarded as one of the biggest PR disasters in royal history. His attempts to deny wrongdoing only fueled public outrage, forcing him to step back from royal duties and disappear from the public eye.
Edwards believes the interview was not just damaging for Andrew, but for the entire royal family. “I was thinking, ‘What are you saying? You’re crucifying yourself.’ He brought it on himself, and for that, he’s suffering.”

Following the scandal, Andrew lost his military titles and royal patronages, and his official duties were stripped away. While he continues to reside at Royal Lodge, his position within the royal family has never recovered.
With the latest Epstein revelations surfacing, Charles had little choice but to solidify Andrew’s exile from royal life. The King has made it clear that there is no path back for his younger brother, and any lingering hopes of a royal rehabilitation are now completely shattered.
The decision also reflects Charles’ efforts to protect the monarchy’s reputation, which has already been battered by multiple controversies in recent years.
The King has taken a firm stance on keeping the royal family scandal-free, and allowing Andrew to remain in any capacity would only bring further damage.
