Meghan Markle Plans Return Trip to Nigeria After First Lady’s Clarification
Meghan Markle, having recently returned from a three-day trip with Prince Harry, is already planning another visit to Nigeria.
Reports indicate that the Duchess of Sussex penned a letter to a Nigerian King, expressing gratitude for the warm hospitality extended during her recent trip.
In the letter addressed to the Oluwu of Iso, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, she thanked him for the opportunity to explore and understand her heritage, particularly after discovering through a DNA test that she has 43% Nigerian ancestry.
She expressed anticipation for a future return, stating, “We look forward to coming back home one day.”
This gesture from Meghan follows a clarification made by the First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, regarding remarks made about the American stars’ attire during their visit.
Tinubu’s office clarified that her remarks about “nakedness” were not directed at Meghan Markle’s outfit, but rather emphasized the appreciation for Meghan’s acknowledgment of Nigerian culture and people.

The clarification came after the First Lady’s comments sparked controversy, particularly after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s visit coinciding with the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.
Despite the clarification, Meghan’s engagement with her Nigerian heritage and her plans for future visits underscore her commitment to cultural exploration and understanding.
