He later served as an RAF Search and Rescue pilot based at RAF Valley in Anglesey, Wales. Currently, he holds significant military appointments including Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps, Colonel-in-Chief of the Mercian Regiment, and Royal Honorary Air Commodore at R.A.F. Valley.
Kate Middleton also maintains a strong military presence through her roles as Colonel of the Irish Guards and Royal Honorary Air Commodore of the Air Cadets.
