King Charles Faces Stark Warning as Meghan Markle Embarks on Bold New Ventures

The recent return of Meghan Markle to social media has sparked significant debate, with royal expert Phil Dampier issuing a stern warning to King Charles regarding her ongoing ties to the Royal Family.
Markle, who marked her Instagram comeback on New Year’s Day, shared two video clips, one welcoming 2025 and another teasing her upcoming Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. The move came years after she wiped her online presence, including her popular lifestyle blog, The Tig.
Speaking with The Sun, Dampier expressed concerns over Meghan’s alleged strategy of maintaining ties to the monarchy while pursuing a separate career.
“Meghan seems determined to keep one foot in the Royal Family while carving her path in the commercial world,” Dampier stated. “This dual approach has always been the crux of their dilemma.”
He added, “Harry and Meghan decided to opt out of being working royals, but their continued presence in the line of succession and use of titles create a conflicting dynamic.”
Dampier argued that this duality allows the Sussexes to benefit from royal connections while pursuing their independent projects.
“They’re trying to have their cake and eat it too. Harry remains high in the line of succession, as do his children. Meghan’s not in the line, but her association with the royal title strengthens her brand,” he explained.
The expert emphasized that this balancing act could become problematic for the monarchy, especially if the couple continues to commercialize their royal connections.
Dampier warned, “If they overdo the commercialisation or continue to make comments perceived as insults to the Royal Family, King Charles may have to take a harder stance. The titles and their inclusion in the line of succession could be reconsidered if the situation escalates.”
The couple’s ability to “do their own thing” while retaining royal privileges is a sensitive issue that King Charles and his advisors will need to address strategically.
Adding to the complexity is Meghan’s forthcoming Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, set to premiere on January 15, 2024.
The show is expected to be a pivotal moment in her rebranding journey, further blending her royal past with her independent ambitions.
While Meghan’s return to Instagram is an undeniable milestone in her public journey, Dampier’s insights highlight the challenges it poses for the monarchy.
Whether King Charles will address these concerns publicly or continue to navigate them privately remains a critical question as the Royal Family enters the new year.
