Were Prince Harry and Meghan Markle invited to Trooping the Colour?
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s absence from the Trooping the Colour event has sparked discussions about their relationship with the Royal Family and their stance on attending royal gatherings.
Despite reportedly having an “open invitation” to attend major royal events, including King Charles’ Birthday Parade, it appears unlikely that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will participate due to ongoing tensions within the family.
Richard Eden, the Daily Mail’s Diary Editor, mentioned the open invitation on Palace Confidential, indicating that while the invitation exists, Harry and Meghan’s strained relationship with other members of the Royal Family complicates their attendance.
Charlotte Griffiths, the Daily Mail’s Editor-at-Large, expressed skepticism about Meghan Markle’s willingness to attend such events.
Citing Meghan’s previous discomfort during her first appearance at Trooping the Colour, Griffiths suggested that Meghan might not wish to share the limelight on the balcony or stand at the back.
“I just can’t see him [Harry] ever coming back without her,” Griffiths remarked, implying that Harry likely wouldn’t attend alone.

She also speculated that Meghan would refuse to attend even if she were in the UK, emphasizing the hypothetical nature of any discussion given Meghan’s current residence outside the country.
The discussion underscores the complexities and dynamics within the Royal Family, highlighting the ongoing repercussions of Harry and Meghan’s decision to step back from their royal duties and relocate.
Their absence from significant royal events continues to be a topic of interest and speculation among royal watchers and the public alike.
