Prince William Reacts To Kate Middleton’s New Portrait Controversy

Prince William has seemingly turned a deaf ear to fans’ reactions to Princess Kate’s new portrait, set to appear on the cover of “Tatler” magazine.

Unveiled on Wednesday morning, the portrait by British artist Hannah Uzor has drawn a mixed reception from the public. This comes just a week after a new painted image of King Charles also faced significant criticism.

Kate Middleton’s portrait, which shows her in a white gown against a blue background, is based on a photograph taken during King Charles’ first state banquet in November 2022.

Despite some fans expressing their displeasure with comments like “It looks nothing like her,” neither William nor Kate has commented on the artwork.

Hannah Uzor, the artist behind the portrait, shared that a recent diagnosis influenced her perspective on this piece.

She described creating the portrait as “a moment of dealing with something difficult, speaking from the heart, having the courage to tackle it head-on.”

Notably, The Telegraph’s art critic Alastair Sooke labeled the painting “intolerably bad,” echoing sentiments from social media users who criticized it as “awful” and indistinguishable as Kate.

Prince William, who recently hosted a lavish party at Buckingham Palace, appears to have deliberately ignored the controversy, perhaps to avoid escalating the debate.

The party saw support from family members Zara Tindall, Mike Tindall, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie, drawing positive responses from fans.

One fan remarked, “So nice to see Zara, Mike, Beatrice, and Eugenie supporting William.

I hope we see more of them even when Kate is back.” Another commented, “Wishing a speedy recovery to Princess Catherine! So proud of Prince William for carrying on. What a shining example for his family.”

As the discussion around Kate’s portrait continues, the royal family remains focused on their duties, demonstrating resilience and unity in the face of public scrutiny.
