According to Daily Express, Morgan used the platform to highlight what he sees as the unexpected benefit of being ousted from ITV. When asked how he managed to transition so successfully into the digital space, Morgan was quick to give credit — or blame — to Meghan.
“Well the simple answer would be Meghan Markle,” he said pointedly. “Because without her contribution I wouldn’t have left Good Morning Britain and then become a free agent.”
Viewers were stunned as Morgan credited Meghan, the very woman he has relentlessly criticized for years, for indirectly launching his post ITV success. The moment, though laced with sarcasm, made headlines almost instantly.
The Daily Express later posted the quote to its official X, formerly Twitter, account along with a photo of Morgan mid interview. The caption read, “Piers Morgan took another cruel swipe at Meghan Markle after a new survey revealed that YouTube is becoming the biggest broadcasting channel.”
Not one to stay quiet, Morgan quickly responded with mockery, writing, “Cruel swipe? I thanked her!” followed by three laughing face emojis.
