Prince George’s Unbelievable Backup Plan If He Wasn’t Future King

It seems Prince George, the future king of England, has a surprising backup plan if royal duties weren’t part of his destiny.

The 11-year-old recently revealed his unexpected dream job, and it has nothing to do with the crown. Instead, the eldest son of Prince William and Princess Kate has set his sights on a humble yet beloved profession—working in a restaurant.

The young prince’s aspiration came to light during a family outing to Wiveton Hall Cafe in Norfolk, where George had an eye-opening experience.

Desmond MacCarthy, the landowner of Wiveton Hall, shared a delightful interaction with the prince, recalling George’s excitement when he saw the restaurant’s wood-fired pizza oven.

“That’s what I want to do when I grow up!” the royal reportedly exclaimed, much to the amusement of the adults around him.

MacCarthy, who featured in the 2016 BBC Two documentary Normal For Norfolk, described George as a “sweet boy” during his visit. The prince was accompanied by his mother, Kate Middleton, and other members of the royal family.

The Wiveton Hall Cafe, nestled near Blakeney, is not far from the royals’ countryside retreat, Anmer Hall, located on the Sandringham Estate.

The family was said to have stopped by the cafe while spending time at Sandringham, which is a favorite spot for their holidays.

While George’s enthusiasm for pizza-making might seem surprising for a future monarch, it offers a rare glimpse into the everyday interests of a royal child who, like many boys his age, finds joy in simple pleasures.

For MacCarthy, the moment was endearing, although he noted humorously that children “start to become less appealing as they grow up.”

Unfortunately, George’s dream to return to Wiveton Hall Cafe and try his hand at pizza-making may remain unfulfilled.

The beloved cafe is set to close its doors next month after 17 years of service. The impending closure of the cafe marks the end of an era for locals and visitors alike, and for George, it means his desired career path—at least at this specific location—may no longer be an option.

While it’s unlikely that Prince George will be trading his royal duties for a career in the culinary arts anytime soon, his lighthearted comment serves as a reminder that even the future King of England enjoys imagining a different path.

And who knows? Perhaps in another life, we’d find George tossing dough and serving up wood-fired pizzas at Wiveton Hall Cafe.

As the young prince continues to grow, the world is sure to see more of his unique personality and preferences emerge, both royal and non-royal.

For now, though, his dream of being a pizza chef remains a charming glimpse into the life of a boy balancing his destiny as a future king with the typical daydreams of childhood.
