However, Levy clarified that despite being the third installment in the Deadpool franchise, the film will not be titled Deadpool 3.
In an interview with Screen Rant, Levy expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to helm a project starring two legendary actors, Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine. “As far as crafting the Deadpool and Wolverine story, I just felt privileged every day because you’re talking about two massive movie stars in their most iconic roles,” shared Levy.
The director emphasized that while the movie marks the third installment in the Deadpool series, it represents a distinct departure from its predecessors. “It’s the third Deadpool movie, but it’s not Deadpool 3,” Levy clarified, hinting at a unique storyline that sets it apart from previous films.
