Meghan Markle Slammed as Too Demanding in Friendships After Edward Enninful Fallout

Meghan Markle is once again under scrutiny — this time for how she handles disagreements with those closest to her. A royal expert has claimed the Duchess of Sussex doesn’t respond well when friends don’t see eye-to-eye with her, especially when it comes to high-profile collaborations.
According to royal commentator Hugo Vickers, Meghan’s recent fallout with British Vogue editor Edward Enninful is just the latest example of her apparent aversion to differing opinions. Speaking to The Sun, Vickers didn’t hold back in his assessment of Meghan’s attitude toward personal and professional relationships.
“None of this surprises me at all, because we see it the whole time — when things don’t go her way, she just overreacts,” Vickers said bluntly. His comments come amid reports that Meghan turned down a prominent feature in Vogue after she was allegedly denied a print or digital cover by Enninful.
Vickers continued, “Clearly in this case with Edward Enninful, she has made something of an enemy, because he then dropped her from something she would have liked to be a part of, and it seems to happen the whole time.”
Insiders claim Meghan had high expectations for the collaboration, hoping for a major cover moment to bolster her post-royal image. But when the Vogue editor couldn’t deliver due to prior cover commitments, the Duchess reportedly walked away from the deal entirely — a move that sources say damaged their previously warm relationship.
According to Vickers, this pattern of behavior isn’t new. “She’s very demanding. She’s difficult to work with. She has her ideas of what she wants to do, and she doesn’t seem to want to listen to anybody else,” he explained. “And that’s when you get into trouble.”
The scathing remarks come at a time when Meghan is attempting to rebrand herself in the U.S. media world, with recent efforts including the launch of a new lifestyle brand and rumors of a memoir in the works. But critics argue that if Meghan can’t handle pushback or compromise, she may face roadblocks in industries that thrive on collaboration and flexibility.

This isn’t the first time Meghan has been accused of cutting people out of her life. Over the years, multiple former friends, aides, and even family members have claimed she distances herself when relationships become complicated or don’t align with her goals.
The alleged pattern has raised questions about how Meghan handles personal dynamics — especially when those close to her offer advice or express views that differ from hers. As one former associate once put it, “You’re either all-in with Meghan, or you’re out.”
Yet defenders of the Duchess argue that Meghan is simply a woman who knows what she wants and won’t settle for less. They say her strong vision and refusal to compromise are part of what made her successful in Hollywood — and later, in shaping her royal and post-royal brand.
Still, the fallout with Enninful may prove costly. The editor, who is one of the most powerful figures in British fashion, had once been a key ally. Their joint 2019 Vogue issue was widely praised, and many expected future collaborations. But now that relationship appears strained — if not entirely severed.
For Meghan, who is rumored to be pursuing new media ventures and high-profile appearances, burning bridges with influential figures could make future opportunities harder to secure.
The Duchess has always been a polarizing figure — hailed by some as a modern feminist icon and criticized by others as controlling and self-centered. This latest episode may reinforce both sides of the debate, but one thing is clear: Meghan Markle doesn’t take kindly to being told “no” — even by her friends.
